Rough Ride Guide’s very own event on their home turf with a friendly and relaxed feeling to the day, and a new selection of routes for 2013.

TYPE OF RIDE: Circular ride along natural, rolling trails.

DIFFICULTY RATING: Beginner to Expert depending on distance chosen.

DISTANCE(S): 10 / 20 / 35 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 100km options.

The layout of the routes enable a range of combinations/distances to be ridden.

WHERE: Woodcote village hall, Post code: RG8 0QY

WHY DO THE RIDE: To meet new riders and because the Chilterns are notoriously difficult to navigate. We signpost the routes and provide support and refreshments along the way so you can safely explore new trails or push yourself to ride big new distances. The 10km family route is suitable for children (around 7yrs +). Just buy 1 ticket to cover thewhole family. With fantastic cake to treat yourself to and free tea and coffee this is a great day out for all abilities and ages.

WHAT BIKE: A hardtail bike (front suspension only) is fine for this terrain, but a short travel full suspension bike will make things more comfortable, especially on the longer distances, and is no way overkill.

WHAT TYRES: It will depend on the weather, so keep an eye on our reports leading up to the event. If its dry a low profile tyre is ideal, but if the ground is wet a knobblier tyre that can handle roots and dig in may be required.

hot showers, tea & cake await the riders
